Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Knight Jewelry collects on knightjewelry.store, why we collect it, who receives it, and the rights you have — including California consumer rights.
Effective October 3, 2026·Knight Jewelry
1. Scope and who we are
This Privacy Policy applies to knightjewelry.store and to personal information we collect when you browse, save checkout details in your browser, place an order, email us, or otherwise deal with Nicholas J. Knight d/b/a Knight Logics (“Knight Jewelry,” “we,” “us”) as a customer of this store.Knight Jewelry is the shop name. The seller is Nicholas J. Knight d/b/a Knight Logics. It does not apply to websites we do not control.
For privacy requests, email info@knightjewelry.store with the subject “Privacy.”
2. Notice at collection
We collect the categories of personal information described below for the business purposes described below. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than those allowed by California law for providing the services you request (including payment processing).
3. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the store, we may collect:
- Identifiers. Name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing addresses, order number, sign-in session records (the email, when a session started and ends; the session token itself is stored only as a one-way hash), and IP address or similar device/network information used for security and rate limiting.
- Commercial information. Products viewed or added to the bag, items purchased, ring size and other configuration, prices, tax, shipping method, and order history.
- Payment information. We do not store full card numbers. Card data is entered on Stripe Checkout and tokenized by Stripe. We may receive a payment reference, last-four digits, card brand, authorization result, and billing-address verification result.
- Internet and electronic activity. Pages and products viewed, checkout steps started, approximate location derived from IP, and security logs. Catalog analytics events (product view, add to bag) are stored without a persistent visitor identifier.
- Inferences. Limited merchandising inferences such as which styles are in demand, used to order the catalog — not to build a marketing profile of you as an individual.
- Communications. The content of emails you send us, return requests you submit on the site, and photos you attach for a return or warranty claim.
We do not intentionally collect government ID numbers, precise geolocation, biometric identifiers, or health information. Do not send those to us unless we specifically ask for a document needed to complete a legal request.
4. Sources
We collect personal information from:
- You, when you type it into the site, checkout, return-request form, or email.
- Your browser, including local storage for the bag and saved checkout details, and technical data sent with requests.
- Our payment processor, tax-calculation provider, hosting provider, and security tooling, as needed to complete a purchase or protect the site.
- Carriers and fulfillment partners, such as tracking and delivery exceptions, after you order.
5. How we use it
We use personal information to:
- Take and fulfill orders, size or finish a piece when the style requires it, ship, insure, and provide tracking.
- Quote and collect sales tax, keep records required by tax and commercial law, and process refunds, voids, and chargebacks.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized card use, including address verification and rate limiting.
- Respond to your emails, return requests, and warranty claims.
- Send transactional email: order received, confirmed, shipped, canceled, and refunded notices, and one-time sign-in codes.
- Let you sign in with your checkout email to see your orders, and keep that sign-in secure.
- Improve catalog order (which styles to feature) using aggregate view, bag, and sales signals.
- Comply with law, enforce our Terms of Sale, and protect Knight Jewelry, our customers, and the public.
We do not use your email for promotional campaigns unless you separately ask us to.
7. How we disclose it
We disclose personal information to service providers and contractors who process it on our instructions and only as needed for their task:
- Payment processing (Stripe) for authorization, capture, voids, and refunds.
- Tax calculation providers, to quote and record sales tax from the ship-to address.
- Fulfillment, logistics, and carrier partners, to make, size, pack, insure, and deliver the order and to handle in-transit claims.
- Email and hosting providers, to operate the site, send order and sign-in emails, and receive your messages.
- Professional advisors (legal, accounting) and authorities when required by law or to protect rights.
We may also disclose information if we sell or reorganize the business, in which case this policy will continue to apply or you will receive a new notice. We do not disclose personal information to unrelated marketers for their own use.
8. Sale and sharing
We do not sell personal information as “sale” is defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not have actual knowledge of selling or sharing the personal information of consumers under 16.
If that practice ever changes, we will update this policy and provide any required opt-out before the change takes effect.
9. Retention
We keep order, payment-token, tax, and fulfillment records for as long as needed to complete the transaction, handle returns and warranty claims, meet tax, accounting, and legal obligations, and resolve disputes. That period is typically several years for completed orders. Browser-stored bag and saved details last until you clear them or they are overwritten. Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes and sign-in sessions after 30 days. Security logs are kept for a shorter operational period. When we no longer need information, we delete or de-identify it.
10. Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to a jewelry storefront, including transmitting checkout over HTTPS and keeping card data in the payment processor’s hosted fields. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for the security of the email account and devices you use to receive order confirmations and to store saved details.
11. Children
The store is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and you must be 18 to place an order. If you believe we have information from a child, email info@knightjewelry.store and we will delete it.
12. California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business or commercial purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclose it; to request deletion; to request correction of inaccurate information; to opt out of sale or sharing (we do not sell or share); and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
We do not offer a financial incentive program that trades discounts for personal information. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.
California’s “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code § 1798.83) also allows certain customers to request information about disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing.
13. How to exercise rights
Email info@knightjewelry.store from the address associated with your order, with the subject “Privacy,” and tell us whether you want to know, delete, or correct. Include your full name, the email used at checkout, and at least one order number if you have purchased. We will verify the request by matching that information to our records. We may ask for additional information if the request is sensitive.
You may use an authorized agent. The agent must provide proof of authorization, and we may still need to verify your identity directly. We will respond within the time the law requires, generally 45 days, with an extension when reasonably necessary.
We may deny a request as the law allows — for example, if we cannot verify you, if the information is needed to complete a transaction, detect fraud, or comply with a legal obligation, or if the request is manifestly unfounded.
14. Sensitive personal information
There are no customer passwords. Sign-in uses a one-time code sent to your email; we keep only a one-way hash of each code and session token. Payment card data is collected by the processor, not stored by Knight Jewelry. We use payment and address information only to provide the services you request and to prevent fraud. We do not use it to infer characteristics.
15. Do Not Track
The site does not respond to browser Do Not Track signals. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context advertising, a GPC or similar opt-out signal does not change a sale/share setting that is already off. Strictly necessary processing (checkout, tax, fulfillment, security) continues.
16. Visitors outside the United States
We operate this store for U.S. customers and ship only to U.S. addresses. If you access the site from elsewhere, you understand that information is processed in the United States, where laws may differ from those in your country.
17. Changes
We may update this policy by posting a new version with a new effective date. Material changes will be indicated on this page. The version in effect when we collect information governs that collection, except where the law requires us to apply a newer version or to give additional notice.
